Natur-Tyme's own Wendy Meyerson Receives 2012 Ann Michel Award
On April 3, 2012, at the 10th Annual WISE (Women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship) Symposium, Wendy Meyerson was awarded the Ann Michel Award, recognizing her outstanding leadership, her entrepreneurial spirit, and her commitment to the Central New York community.
In 2004, entrepreneur Ann Michel was the recipient of the inaugural WISE Distinguished Entrepreneur Award for her high-growth business, Knowledge Systems & Research. Her inspiration led to the naming of this award in her honor after her unexpected death later that year. The awards are given annually to two women who have started Central New York businesses with proven success in entrepreneurship, have been in business for at least three years, and have demonstrated economic impact and growth. The winners are selected by the committee of the WISE Advisory Board.
Wendy’s award was presented by Ann Marie Stonecypher, President of AMS models. She told the audience how Wendy has established a retail health food store with incredible customer service, but also, explained that Wendy is much more than a store owner. Ann Marie acknowledged the significant impact Wendy has had on the Central New York community with her ongoing radio show and the numerous health fair events she has hosted throughout the years. She attributed Wendy’s success to her passion, enthusiasm, and drive.

Oppose New York State Bill S.3556!
This pending law would prevent nutritionists and nurses from giving us nutrition advice! The New York Legislature is currently considering this seriously restrictive bill that would create a new title for dietitians and nutritionists—“Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist” or “LDN”. Moreover, a majority of the new board would be ADA members, and they would have the power to decide which exams are allowed—and which are not. Keep in mind that the ADA is sponsored by such companies as Coca-Cola and PepsiCo.
This change would criminalize non-licensed practitioners creating significant economic loss due to the severe and unnecessary scope of practice restrictions of the proposed bill. Highly trained professionals including but not limited to chiropractors, naturopathic doctors, nurse practitioners, physicians assistants, certified nutrition specialists, certified clinical nutritionists, and health coaches would effectively be prohibited from providing nutrition-related counseling.
Contact your state legislators and express your opposition to this bill!
